We want to hear your thoughts on it!
Since our last book tour update, we talked PR 2.0 with Shonali Burke; long term care communities with Brian Geyser, building community around your tradeshow with Mike Thimmesch, small staff associations with Shannon Otto, skill sets for nurturing community with Jay Baer, and the concept of sharing control with Peggy Hoffman. Deirdre Reid and Big Duck quizzed us on lots of stuff including public vs. private communities, association blogging, staffing of social media, and how Open Community relates to Beth Kanter’s concept of the Networked Nonprofit. We talked to Beth directly about that last one, too! Steve Drake wrote an awesome post digging into what his takeaways from the book were and how his AMC could take these ideas forward with their association clients.
Phew! We’re completely exhausted and so grateful for all these great blogs to have hosted our tour. And there’s more to come of course… Here’s the Open Community Virtual Book Tour schedule if you want to check out the other past or future tour posts. The book tour continues through the rest of December!
Got an open-ended comment or question? We’re testing out an Open Community Book Club group on Facebook. If you’ve read the book and are interested in chatting with others about it, please check this out and invite your colleagues!
Thanks for reading!
